Over the course of the year aswell as doing lots of fundraising events (see news page) Transition Year run and are involved in a number of large projects.

The two main projects Transition Year run are BCR and Aidlink

BCR (Blackrock College Radio) is a radio station run by the Transition Year students of Blackrock College every year in aid of St Vincent de Paul.(Click here for photos) BCR has been running for about 10 years now. Transition Year is granted a special event licence by the Broadcasting Commission of Ireland (BCI) to broadcast over a five mile radius for a week. BCR is a major undertaking involving the production of over 45 hours of radio in one week. (Click here for more)

Goal / Aidlink: The students of Blackrock College have been involved with the GOAL-Aidlink St. Patrick's Day Badge project since 1989. Through the St. Patrick’s Day Badge Project, Aidlink raises money for the Developing World, splitting the money equally between the two implementing organisations Aidlink and Goal.
